The Payne Family Visits

This adorable little guy is my nephew, Tyson. I caught this smile on a walk down our road. My brother Travis and his wife Sari came to visit for the weekend. We had a great time.

This horse's name is Mocha and she is so sweet and gentle with the kids. Tyson walked up to the fence and said, "Moo!" So close Tyson. So close.

This is a Ruddy Duck. A male. Their beaks turn this blue color during mating season and they do this cool little chest slap with it. Funny little ducks. Just one of many fun things to do and look at while at our neighbor's house.

One lonely snail creeping along in the grass. I'm really surprised that I spotted him. How cool.

Everyone took at turn on the tractor. They loved it. I particularly like Braeden's smile. Sari made a face at him and he copied her. So funny!

This is one of our many attempts to get a picture of Karlina and Tyson together. We would ask him to sit down and smile, he would and just as you click the camera he was up on off again. I don't know how Travis and Sari keep up with him. He is a busy little man. Braeden and Karlina are pretty cute in this pick.

Tyson was so cute! It was like he had never seen a mud puddle before. Back and forth he ran and ran. Bless his little heart, he maintained his balance pretty good for a little guy. It was so fun to watch him discover the feel and sound of the splashes. "Ty Ty the cutie pie." That's his new name.

Seattle Aquarium Here We Come!

When Karlina got to the aquarium she stood in front of the huge sea wall to look at the fish. It's really neat and has all kinds of cool fish, plants, and critters. She refused to show me her face to take her picture. So I said, "okay no pictures." After a huge bratty fit she demanded that I photograph her. I don't understand this behavior nor do I appreciate it. I hope she grows out of it soon.

Daddy and Karlina at the touch pools. I don't know who had more fun, Karlina or the grown ups. It was a really fun afternoon at the Seattle Aquarium.

I looked him right in the eye and I know he was looking back at me. It was so cool!

This was one of two octopus. It was huge! They are so beautiful.

After a whole weekend together, this was the only picture that turned out with Karlina and her little cousin Tyson. He was just to stinkin fast! While sitting in this window looking at the fish she said to me, "Mom I'm deep sea diving." I don't know where she learned about that but it was so sincere.

The happy Del Valle family.

Uncle Travis, Aunt Sari, and Tyson. They such a cute family and we had such a good time with them.

Grandma with Karlina and Tyson. What a fun day!

Salamander visit.

It was rainy May day and I just happened to see this little guy walking down the sidewalk by the front door. Of course I grabbed the camera and Karlina and we went outside for introductions. How cute is he?!

Karlina wasn't quite sure what to think about it and didn't want to hold him. She was happy to touch him and decided that he feels like a starfish. Accurate observation. It was a nice little visit. When we were done he crawled under a big bush in the rock garden and I haven't seen him since.

My daily battle.

This day started out with a heavy rain. Everything was still wet and muddy after lunch time. In the backyard there is a sandbox for the kids. It used to have bungie cords on it to keep it closed but they broke a long time ago. Back then it was no big deal because the kids where too little to open the lid (or the doors) themselves. To get to the sandbox the kids slide down this dirt (or mud in this case)bank. I had been in the bathroom for 2 seconds and when I came back upstairs I found the house very quiet and empty. A quick search revealed an open back door, dog and cat outside, and Karlina and Braeden in the sandbox with no shoes and covered in mud.Needless to say, this is my daily battle.

They played out there for about 45 minutes and then it was time to come in, clean up, and go take a nap. They are so oblivious to dirt!

Karlina has 3 little puppies that she drags everywhere! Church, the mall, Target, upstairs, downstairs, in the car, on a walk, to the park, and in the sandbox.

Just like Mommy.

More and more lately, Karlina has been seen walking around in Mommy's shoes. She thinks she is a "big girl" like Mommy.

Viking Fest!

Karlina was so excited to play at the "carmibal" this year.
She was brave and rode this one all by herself!

She and I went down the big slide together and it was "so, so, so, so, so, so much fun"! I haven't laughed like that with her before.

Karlina and Daddy went round and round the merry-g0-round 3 or 4 times.

Bless her little heart, she watched the "hoorade" for 2 hours! She loved waving the flag and grabbing the candy! Every day since this she has asked to go back. We look forward to next year.

Singin' in the Rain...

Spring in Poulsbo is always wet. On this day it was sprinkling one minute and sunny the next. We are tired of being stuck in the house so we put on our rain gear and went outside. I don't know who had more fun... Me, watching the kids.

Them, catching raindrops, splashing in puddles, and daring to step out from under cover.

Or Olive, running around back and forth all over the yard half soaked from the shoulders down. They talked about this for days!
